INSIDE: Discover 12 simple, meaningful ways to give back to those in need all year long. Easy monthly ideas for families, kids, and busy lives. Several years ago I started something I thought was going to be AMAZING! 2 months in…..everyone’s world collapsed. We were separated by at least 6 feet, 15 minutes, and GOD help you if you had a cough. COVID is still around but we are so much more knowledgeable about how to treat this thing. Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. Anyway, my idea was 12 months of giving. Clean out your house and give to those in need. Turns out everyone did that because that was all some of us had TO do. Goodwill stores were overflowing, animal shelters were empty. Which is amazing but the ones of us still working were so exhausted we couldn’t find time to do any of these things. SO my proposal is this – try it again. Healthcare workers, grocery store clerks, gas station attendants, groomers, bankers, and lets not forget our liquor store workers. Y’all kept me sane through all this. BUT now I challenge you to clean out your closets, pantries, cabinets, and donate to the folks that need it. Don’t forget to share the social love – Come follow us on Pinterest, Facebook, TikTok and Insta. AND now on YouTube!!! Here is the original post – 12 months of giving. I don’t want to re-create the wheel here, so I’m just going to keep it similar, change somethings cause…well time changed some things. This will be our outline – Some of these things have changed for various reasons. BUT we will stick to the main idea of each of these months. January, April and November – Food Using the Food Pantries website, you can find any state and city you want. There are nationwide food banks that have local chapter or online donation options, such as Feeding America, Meals on Wheels, World Central Kitchen, and No Kid Hungry. February and August- Clothing This website can help you find local and nationwide donations centers – Money Crashers. A few of my favorites are One Warm Coat, Soles4souls, and your local homeless shelters. March – Towels This is not rocket science. Old towels – thin? rips? too many? not your style anymore? Give them away. Who would want old towels? Lots of people. My personal favorite is animal shelters. Want to find a No Kill Shelter to donate to – check out Best Friends to find one near you. Another place that will take your towels is homeless shelters. Not sure where those are near you. No problem – HUD (U.S. Departments of Housing and Urban Development) can help you find one. April – Books Believe it or not there are SOOOO many places to donate books. No book is to small or too great. May and December – Toys Dust gathering on those “I have to have this” toys? Me either….I was asking for a friend. Twice a year, we go through our toys, decide what we still play with and donate the rest. I am always impressed by what the kids are willing to part with. Some of our favorite places to donate: June – Kitchen items Think dishes, silverware, small appliances, pots and pans. We aren’t going repeat the same charitable donation option with each month of giving because the same places accept all donations. Salvation Army, Habitat Restores, Goodwill and local non-profits. For this one we will add Furniture Bank Network. I don’t have one near me, but maybe you do. If you don’t, stick to the normal places. July – personal hygiene items Do you have 35 scents of lotion from Bath and Body that you will never wear again? Shampoo that made your hair frizzy? Me too……so I take all of these things to my local shelter. September – Home Decor Pictures, lamps, pillows….you know the stuff. Again, Habitat Restores, Salvation Army, and Goodwill will take these items. However, we have a local organization that helps people find low income housing and, many times, keeps them out of the shelter or from being homeless. It is called ECHO – Eastern Carolina Housing Organization. I donate my home goods to them, as they give the items to people who literally have nothing. There are pick up donation sites that might be available to you as well. Here is a reputable website that is available in large cities. October – Blankets and Jackets In some places it starts getting cold around October. I live in the south…..ummmm….we call our weather waffling. It will be 35 degrees one day and the next 75…..so while we may not need warm jackets for 6 months, we need them sometimes. Therefore, our jackets are gently used. One Warm Coat is an amazing organization that partners with retailers all over the country to get the donated items to those in need. I would like to give a special nod to another organization that does amazing things for the communities it calls home. MOD Pizza. If you don’t have one, I’m sorry. These folks actually host a coat drive for kids and give the “reward” to the child donating the jacket. And of course the usual places apply here. When giving blankets, think about the people who need them most. Homeless or unhoused people, depending on who you talk to. Donating these to homeless and/or domestic violence shelters are where you can make the biggest impact. Another idea is animal shelters. Some types of comforters or filled blankets should NOT be given to animal shelters. As you can imagine, stuffing that is eaten must come out……I’ll leave that there. OK, let’s get this thing started…..FIRST put Christmas away. Start somewhere,

INSIDE: Curious about Swedish dishcloths? Here’s how they clean better, last longer, and simplify your kitchen routine—plus why I’m obsessed with them. What? What did I just say? Yes…..Swedish dishcloths…..haven’t heard of them. SHAME! But really don’t worry, I will enlighten you. Paperless Fast drying Reusable No STINK This brand is simply amazing. I have used many of their products and LOVE everyone of them. Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. So what ARE Swedish Dishcloths? Swedish dishcloths are ultra-absorbent, reusable cloths made from a blend of wood pulp and cotton. Think of them as the love child of a sponge and a microfiber cloth—but eco-friendly, cute, and actually functional. A single cloth can replace 15–17 rolls of paper towels (yes, rolls!), and it dries fast enough to avoid that gross, smelly-sponge smell we all pretend we don’t have. That’s RIGHT I said REPLACE!!! Why I converted to Swedish Dishcloths Don’t forget to share the social love – Come follow us on Pinterest, Facebook, TikTok and Insta. AND now on YouTube!!! How to use them in your daily routine How long do they really last? Most last up to 6 months, depending on how often they’re used. Mine get a heavy workout, so I rotate a few at a time. When they finally can no longer be used, you can compost them—if you are so inclined. ACTIVE brand recommends changing them up every couple months, but can last longer with proper care. What, you may ask, is proper care? You can throw them in the dishwasher, washing machine or hand wash them….they still don’t stink….unlike sponges or washcloths. Swedish Dishcloths – Worth It or Not? Short answer – YES! They’ve simplified my cleaning routine, cut down on paper towel costs, and made my kitchen feel cleaner with less effort. In a life already full of chaos, they make me feel more in control of the cleanliness and less overwhelmed by the mess. Small Tool = Big Difference I didn’t expect that these little things would make such a big difference in my life…ALAS….here we are. Swedish dishcloths might be small, but they be mighty! Each one helps make everyday messes quicker, easier, and a whole lot less chaotic to clean up. And when you’re trying to run a household, work, raise humans, and stay semi-sane? Every tiny shortcut helps. NOW – do you want a give them a try??? Click here to get the cute colors in bulk. Happy Cleaning ,

INSIDE: Discover how a family hub can simplify your busy life. Learn how to streamline schedules, track tasks, and keep your household organized with ease. Remember when COVID happened and the kids were at home for 2 months doing home school…and then when they were allowed to go back, it was part time? Our Family Command Center was the center of the WORLD to us. We revamped it twice….. Here is the current state Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. Now that we have one less kid in the house AND 2 teenagers, we need to change our method. Since technology is the way to my kids’ hearts, we will add some of that in here. Since this was a BIG job, I decided to do ALL the steps for each portion – Top cabinet, countertop and drawer, and bottom cabinet. TOP CABINET 1 – PURGE I removed everything from the cabinet – HOLY CANNOLI….how do I keep ending up here? This isn’t everything either. The things that needed a new home ended up on the kitchen table… 2 – CLEAN With my favorite Mrs. Meyers, I cleaned all the cabinet shelves. I also took the opportunity to change the levels of the shelves, I knew one of my new gadgets was taller than the current levels. 3 – ORGANIZE I’m getting older and my medication needs have increased. The mesh organizer was not really cutting it anymore. I have thousands of bandaids….misplaced playing and celebration cards, keepsakes, none of that needed to be in here. So I found new homes for some of these items and the others….well, they got new homes too, but only superficially. Organizing all our medications with the Cabinet Caddy was a game changer. Don’t forget to share the social love – Come follow us on Pinterest, Facebook, TikTok and Insta. AND now on YouTube!!! COUNTER TOP AND DRAWER 1 – PURGE Surprisingly, I only had one grocery bag of trash from here…..wait until you see the difference organization makes. There is not a lot of stuff in here, just poorly managed and CHAOTIC!!! 2 – CLEAN Got out the handy dandy Dyson, vacuumed up all the crumbs then washed it all off with Mrs. Meyers. The counter top got a wipe down, it was a little dusty. 3 – ORGANIZE We don’t need the file folders anymore. The kids are more responsible with school needs. The only thing being kept in that holder is old school pictures. So we are moving our family forward… Remember when I told you about the electronic/technology fueled family? That means, we have a lot of devices. Phones, iPads, and even laptops…..all can fit in this handy charging hub. All of the old organizers were warped….good thing I planned for this ahead of time. My last Target run, I grabbed these drawer organizers to use in my bathroom drawers, but I only used 2 of them there. They were perfect for this drawer! Keeping like things together, I organized the drawer to fit our current needs. We use a lot of batteries – Xbox and wireless everything – so it is very important to keep these organized…..then we know when we need to replace them. BOTTOM CABINET 1 – PURGE I don’t know why I have kept many of these things….get rid of them! 2 – CLEAN Again, Dyson helped me clear out the crumbs then Mrs. Meyers finished the job. 3 – ORGANIZE AND LAST, but my goodness, not least… We had a major malfunction in our fridge just before Christmas, there was a constant puddle underneath it. No one could figure out why……so we went shopping. There were 2 to pick from – Ultimately, the Samsung offered more of what we wanted. PLUS remember when I told you the kids are technology inclined? This “Family Hub” helped me get rid of more clutter from the counter tops and streamline our Family Hub/Command Center. Why this is important to our family is – TEENAGERS! The girls can add important dates to the calendar, add to the grocery list, and make us drawing that don’t require paper. Plus, I can leave them a list of chores…that’s the BEST part…. BEHOLD, our new Family Hub. The fridge even comes with an app – I can see what is in there from work or the store….most importantly, before I go “NOT” shopping. Happy Organizing,

INSIDE: Tried of spending ridiculous amounts of money on laundry soap? Come check out the ultimate guide to making DIY laundry soap and get rid of chemicals! At this point, you know how I feel about laundry. It’s sucking my will to live! However, my new laundry room does help perk up this task. Wanna know more about that remodel? Check out this post. Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. The other day, I was doing a price comparison for cable and it got me thinking…what else do we waste money on? Laundry soap!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like we spend a small fortune on this stuff. Currently, we use TIDE. Why? Because it cleans clothes the best? It is on all the “lists” of best laundry soap. Coincidentally, it is also the most expensive. I normally buy Tide from Target for $17.99. This size claims to be able to wash 89 loads of laundry. I use the liquid because a really smart dermatology nurse told me it’s better for the skin; you don’t have to worry about the grit from the powder. That equals $0.20 per load. I guess that’s not HORRIBLE right??? BUT – the chemicals???? YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!! So, I decided I would give DIY laundry soap a try. There are several motivating factors here….I like DIY’ing, my daughter loves to make things with me, I like the idea of saving money, and chemicals are in the laundry soap. BOOOOO!!!!!!! I found a recipe and tweaked it to my liking. Here is the price break down: How many GALLONS can I make with these supplies? Using my mastery math skills – I consulted with a certain 10 year old math genius – I figured out that: With these supplies, I can make 7 GALLONS of DIY laundry soap AND have some ingredients leftover to make more; only buying the washing soda next time. Here is the recipe after I tweaked it: Ingredients – Directions – ***TIP – I added the oils before the soap, to help the oil mix with the water better. ****UPDATE: the glass jar was not the best idea – the top started to rust about 5 months into the journey – so we switched to a plastic version. I didn’t want something huge (keeping with the gallon option) and I realized that most of these are drink dispensers, so we went with this one. Back to the price thing – I have an HE washer so I only need to use 1/4 cup per load (normal washers need 1/3-1/2 cup). 16 cups in a gallon – I only need 1/4 cup = 64 loads of laundry per gallon. 7 gallons = 448 loads of laundry for $24.20 WHOA!!!!!!!!!!! That is about $0.05 per load BUT does it work? Well, only one way to find out….. I took this towel (and a bunch of other towels that had been used to dry off the dogs after their bath) and threw them in the washer. I added 1/4 cup of detergent to the soap dispenser in my washer and added vinegar to the “bleach” dispenser. Adding vinegar to all towels makes them fluffier and removes any gross smells that end up on towels. I dried the towels and this is the end product: What do you know….it DOES work. I decided to try it on my laundry for a week and see if it was true! And I am completely satisfied. **However, I recommend keeping the liquid warm, if you can. It separates in a strange way….still works the same, just looks weird. Happy DIY’ing, Do you use DIY laundry soap? How do you make yours? Comment below and let us know if you have a better way!

INSIDE: COME SEE THESE SELF-CARE STRATEGIES EVERY BUSY MOM NEEDS TO KNOW AND DO WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY OR SELFISH! With the holidays behind us, I was reminded how important it is to take care of ourselves. Let’s be honest, it’s not just around the holidays. As busy people, taking care of homes, kids, marriages, and working, every day life can begin to overwhelm us…if we let it. And realistically, how many of you busy moms take time to provide self care? So what are some important ‘self care’ things we can sneak into our busy lives that don’t fill up our already overflowing plates? Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. 1 – STOP TROLLING SOCIAL MEDIA BEFORE YOU GET OUT OF BED!! It has become such an important part of daily lives we can’t even put our feet on the ground before we start looking at what other people did last night….but why??? The average person spends close to 3 hours on social media each day – that is Facebook, SnapChat, YouTube, and InstaGram. Imagine what you could do with 3 more hours in your day……I know I could think of MANY things that I could do with that time. 2 – STOP SAYING “YES” TO THINGS YOU DON’T LIKE Why do we feel like we are obligated to participate in things that don’t make us happy? If it isn’t a requirement for work or school, only do it if it makes you happy. Volunteering because you feel guilty? Going to church because it is what you are “supposed to do?” Why do these things if you don’t feel better after doing them? ONLY do things that make YOU happy!!!!!! Self care for busy moms shouldn’t involve things that make you FEEL busier! 3 – DO THINGS JUST FOR YOU 4 – CHANGE YOUR MINDSET If you don’t like something, change it. Period! There is no other way to fix it. YOU don’t like what is happening in your life, YOU have the power to change it. ONLY YOU! I have a tendency to get the “blues” at random times for no reason. It isn’t depression necessarily, because that’s a whole different ball game, but I have “tells” when I get in those BAD places. I stop caring about my nails. Weird, I know….but the minute I realize I haven’t pushed my cuticles or I have a ton of pulled skin around my nails, I know I’m in trouble. I start biting my nails and it’s downhill from there. I have to pull myself out of this – and usually I can – HOWEVER, if I don’t see my “tell” then chances are someone else has to point out my “lack of motivation.” And once they do….GAME ON! Everyone has to have this PERSON – your PERSON! Enter my wonderful husband, who has been tasked with this. Reluctantly he points these things out to me, however hard they are to say and however hard I cry. It is his job as my ROCK! So learn to see your “tell” and figure out how to get it out of your way! 5 – TAKE TIME I say “I don’t have time to do ….” all the time. But really, do I? Are there wasted minutes in my day? Of course there is. But if it doesn’t make me happy, why would I waste my time? 6 – HAVE A HOBBY It doesn’t have to be an expensive hobby, just have one! At least one. There are many reasons for this – See a common idea???? HAPPINESS!!!!! And hobbies don’t have to be done everyday, they can be done once a month……as long as you do it. 7 – TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH 8 – SPEND TIME WITH PEOPLE YOU LOVE Sometimes, these people are your family, sometimes it’s your friends – either way, make time for them. Time goes so fast…do NOT waste it! One of the BIGGEST points of SELF CARE is to do it ON PURPOSE! Think it, Plan it, Do it!! There is a reason it’s been Nike’s slogan for 30 years. “Just Do It!” AND for the LOVE of all that is HOLY – it is NOT selfish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Click here for the full disclosure. How many of you remember the MTV show “The Real World?” Find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real….today we have our own episode! “Find out what happened when I fired my housekeeper and started cleaning with my family’s help.” First let me say, I feel so extremely lucky to have been able to have this wonderful housekeeper helping me for the last year…..BUT – Everyone had become soooo used to saying ‘oh the housekeeper will get it.’ We were ALL turning into piglets!!!! Notice I did NOT say just “the kids,” I said ALL of us….me included. What made me say this? I walked around my house one day and realized that even professionals do NOT clean my house as well as I do. I have expectations (thanks Mom!) and I should have been telling my housekeeper what my expectations are all along. But I didn’t because I was so thankful for the help. I had let my house become dirty (to my standards). So, I needed to take action and reclaim MY home! I also noticed that my kids did NOTHING to take care of our house. They hardly had any chores anymore….they had to bring down their clothes every Sunday (and sometimes my son did it for everyone) and that was it. I was tired of hearing “I don’t have to take my cups downstairs, I don’t have to take out my trash, I don’t have to put my toys away.” I was a little dramatic and said that I fired the housekeeper but really I just told her to take 2 months off. And informed my family that we would be cleaning until she came back. They were NOT happy! Day 1 started off rough. Everyone complained the whole time!!! They did their part but it was meltdown central! Day 2 was a little easier, by day 3 they picked up after themselves a little better than normal. But by day 5….the participation was starting to wane a little. The 2 youngest were the worst. They thought I was torturing them!!! What do you mean I have to put away my books, everyday??? But I made them. By day 7 – we were rocking and rolling again. It is so amazing what a little motivation can do for a family and the idea of a clean house. We had several external motivating factors – sick pup, Christmas visitors, and the completion of my FNP exam. So everyone was extra motivated to get this fresh start. We started looking at it like a Spring cleaning in the winter. Where did we start? Since we had a lot to accomplish, we had to pick up the messes first. Everyone had to put all of their belongings in their room (or where they belong) and trash to the garbage (what a concept!). That took all of day 1. Day 2 & 3, everyone got their orders and set off to achieve them! Oldest child – vacuum all carpets, including stairs, clean his own bathroom, and take out all the trash to the outside trash can. He also had a lot of little “hey can you come help me for a second” tasks. Middle child – empty the dishwasher, dust (this was hilarious because I made her use the long duster to dust the corners of ceilings and ), and clean her own room – like really clean it (that took 2 days itself!) Youngest child – help me clean the bathrooms, clean the living room/office by cleaning the tables, clean the windows (the inside only), and she mopped the kitchen. Hubby – clean all the carpets….I mean it was NOT an easy task. There was doggie sickness everywhere! (And they look AMAZING!!!!) So what did I do? Cleaned the bathrooms (to my specifications, which was really time consuming), cleaned the kitchen, swept all hardwood and tile, and picked up dining room and front room. Over the course of 2 days, we spent 8 hours cleaning the house. I mean REALLY cleaned it. When we all finally sat down – We laid out some new rules: No eating anywhere other than the kitchen table!!!!!!!! Every week, each kid is to bring down their clothes if they want clean clothes. They are to put those clothes away after I wash, dry, and fold them! All glasses will be brought down every morning. There is only water allowed upstairs. Any person caught with food or drinks upstairs will be grounded from electronics for 3 days. (I am willing to bet this will only need to happen once.) Everyone received daily shower cleaner – this is to be sprayed by the last person to shower. I gave specific instructions on this – spray under the lip between the wall and the tub. It is an awkward spot and grime builds up quickly. Use your daily routine cards to help you stay picked up. If we keep it this way, each week of cleaning will be less time consuming. After a week of living in these clean conditions, everyone was beginning to see why this was so important to our family. We had less arguments about cleaning up, less meltdowns about putting away laundry, less eye rolling about the trash, and we were all HAPPIER! I would love to say I can keep this up, but the truth is, I don’t know if I can. I am saving money and teaching my kids something valuable but we have busy schedules. How do you do it? Comment below and share the love with the rest of us!!!! Keys to keeping it clean Minimize We went room to room and made bags of trash, Goodwill, and give to friends. Seasonal clothing (gently used kids clothes went to friends, parents clothes went to Goodwill) Old towels (animal shelters LOVE old towels!!!!!) Cleaning supplies that I don’t use Food that we won’t eat (Think Costco size that we didn’t like) Restart the daily chores I have been soooooo slack about these things. I really have. Today, I am bring back what has worked for us in the past. I printed a new set of cleanup cards, laminated with these self-laminating sheets, punched a hole in the corner, hooked them to a binder ring, attached the dry erase marker, and set them on the hooks on the mail holder. Want your own set? Check out my store – Everything is on sale!!! Part of our new rules includes doing these things before “fun” can be had (we just have to stick to it!) Don’t let it get out of control Pick up after yourself! Do NOT let clutter take over. Do NOT go to bed with a dirty kitchen. Automate what you can – vacuum with a robot, map with a robot, shower cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner – you get the idea. Use easy, cheat cleaners – bathroom tool to save your back, Swiffer dusters, All-in-One floor cleaning tool Hope this helps you! Do you have any tricks and tips for the rest of us? Comment below and help a sista out! Happy Cleaning,

Have you ever stopped to read an article with a flashy headline, only to find out the information you were looking for was NOWHERE in the text? Well, that isn’t going to happen here. Continue reading to find a recipe for shower melts that ACTUALLY work. Not some click bait attempt at getting you to read something you don’t have time to read! Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. Anyways, I was looking for a recipe for a homemade shower bath bomb sort of thing. I had the worst cold and my nose was completely useless for 6 days. (Seriously, I didn’t need the nose cause it wasn’t working AT ALL!) What I found was a zillion recipes for BATH bombs and DIY chest rubs. Neither of those was what I wanted….I’m a busy lady, I take showers! I needed something that was going to de-stuff my nose WHILE I was being productive (and not smelling). Since my nose was suffering for so long, I decided I had to try something. Anything!!!!! So I took all of these recipes and decided to make my own! The first part of my plan was to figure out which essential oils would work best for my nasal congestion. The next part was the actual shower vapor magic. What you’ll need: Directions To use your shower melt: I can’t tell you what a difference this made to my nasal usage! It cleared me up (I’m sure the hot shower helped) but I could finally breath out of both nostrils. Do you have any home remedies that you use to clear congestion? How about curing the common cold? What do you do? Happy Breathing,

4 EASY DIY LAUNDRY ROOM ACCESSORIES TO MAKE YOUR THE MOST OF THIS BORING TASK! During my laundry room makeover, I decided that I needed a few other items. I added this cool shelf and wall art. But something was still missing. I found this cool tip jar on Pinterest but making another wood project seemed like a daunting task, so I made a few concessions and decided to DIY some laundry accessories. Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Click here for the full disclosure. Every laundry room needs a place to put lint, change, and lost socks, am I right? Here are some ideas for you: 1 – Tip Jar It is a pretty simple craft really. 2 – Sock Corral I don’t fold socks in the laundry room, in fact, I don’t fold any clothing in the laundry room. Partially because I don’t have a folding table, and partially because I would rather be watching football (unless it’s not football season and then I watch some random crime drama). When it comes to socks, I usually throw them into whatever laundry basket they belong to without the match. However, I’m starting to see the error of my ways. I never know when there is a missing sock. So I end up with lots of unused socks sitting in a drawer and then mornings are filled with fighting….about favorites that no one has seen in 4 months but “I HAVE TO HAVE THEM TODAY!” Nobody wants that. SO…..I have to rethink my method. Recently, I re-started matching the girls socks, at least. Once I started this, I needed a spot to keep unmatched socks. I knew I wasn’t going to keep this up, so I didn’t make anything special BUT if you want some ideas, check these out: Single, seeking soul mate sign found here Missing sock frame found here Till we meet again rack found here The other trick I’m going to try is putting all socks in a lingerie bag. If I wash and dry them in a bag like this, they will never lose their match……RIGHT?!?!?!?! Now to figure out how to get the kids to put the socks in the lingerie bag before washing (or losing the socks) 3 – Lint Trash Bucket It is an extremely important task to empty the lint trap while doing laundry. It will prevent your house from catching fire (most importantly) but a clean lint trap quickens drying time AND lowers your electricity bill. However, it is a tedious task. And if you (really I mean me) have to walk 10 feet to throw away the lint, it might not get done. So………I highly recommend adding a lint trash bucket. And the best part – you can make your own using the tools you already have out to make your tip jar. Here is what you’ll need: Bucket Painter’s tape Chalkboard paint Foam brushes Chalk or chalk markers Directions Similar steps to the tip jar but you will start with your bucket. I recommend using a tall or wide bucket. Make sure it is clean and dry. Tape off the shape you want – square, triangle, diamond…I did a square (like I did in my tip jar). Using a foam brush, spread the chalkboard paint inside your shape. Wait one hour before applying another coat. Use your chalk marker (or chalk), write “lint” in whatever fancy font you want. 4 – Laundry Sorter The entire process of sorting laundry is soooooo boring! So how can we forego this? Simple – add a laundry sorter like this. BOOM! Organized laundry room AKA cash cow/match maker!! Check out this post to find out more about our new laundry room. Do you have laundry room accessories? I want more….so share the ideas below!!! Happy Crafting,
