IT’S THE BIG ROOM REVEAL!! After all our hard work this weekend, we finally have the perfect Football Fan’s Room….special for my nephew. You can see the stickers on the walls, he was very hesitant to get rid of them but we compromised and saved the big one…. Let’s walk through what we did: DECLUTTERED!!!!! And what a difference that can make!! Now that I have a BLANK slate, I can visualize how to make the room function. We did a quick clean with vacuuming and cleaning up the walls. Then, I enlisted my Dad and son to help me start moving furniture in. The bed went in first and keeping Feng Shui rules in mind – we placed the bed on the right wall. As I said in a previous post, none of this would have been possible without the hard work of all 4 of our parents. Donated bed, bedding, dresser, bookshelf, lamp, TV, and elbow grease! Thank you all so much!!!!! The kids helped me make the bed. Since my nephew was so excited about the bed, we had the kids go outside for an hour. Upon their return, he would have a sweet surprise waiting for him. Thank God it was a nice day. Here comes the rest: After the furniture was in place, I kicked everyone out and did my thing. I did call my Dad back in the hang pictures but I could have done it (I think he loved being able to help). Without further ado: A few things – I left one Spider-Man sticker above his bed. I also left the letter I made him when he was born, even though its Carolina Panthers colors. He INSISTED that stayed! I asked him why he didn’t pick that theme….he said “maybe some day….” Ok kid, maybe some day! While I can’t tell you how she did it, my stepmother made this dresser and bookshelf look more amazing then I could have imagined when she explained the process to me. I want to learn how to do this!!! My Dad made the football play signs with a chalkboard. I made the custom Cricut sign. The lamp was made out of leftover fabric and Mod Podge. It was super simple and worked out great! (Thanks for the great idea Kate!) As with all makeovers, especially this football BOY room – Before and afters: Needless to say, I have had so much fun doing this for my nephew and my sister. I am so grateful for the help of everyone involved in this room makeover. My sister said, “Can you come back next weekend and do my room?” HAHAHA….nope! But I will come back and help you…..just might take me a year to recover from this one! What do you think? Want a room like this one??? Happy Decorating,

I’m not making this up at all!!!! I have been NAGGING him for months to go through his drawers…but this….was unexpected! I went into his room one morning and almost fell over. LIKE seriously? How many soda cans do you NEED to keep in your room to make yourself feel better? Why is it so hard to put dirty clothes in the laundry basket? Why do you want the clothing on your floor? I’ve never been that person, so I don’t understand why this kid WANTED to live like this? Imagine my surprise when he asked me for hangers……I asked, “why, what are you up to?” He simply smiled and said “you’ll see!” Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would see this….. I knew he was proud of himself. But when I told him it was better than I would have done…he was genuinely proud. I asked him what he did. He said “exactly what you told me. One drawer at a time, I put my clothes on my bed. Got rid of what doesn’t fit or I don’t wear any more. I put away the clothes that actually go in THOSE drawers. Then I took the clothes out of my closet. Same thing….removed what I don’t wear and used hangers. Amazing how much neater it looks!” 2 bags of trash, one bag of clothing, and a box of old toys!! I am super proud of this boy!!! Now for the before and after: See – motivation is contagious. Just start somewhere,
