Click here for the full disclosure. Remember the dilemma about pictures of my kids NOT in the line of sight for all to see?!!!? I have found THEE spot and set off to create a KIDS gallery wall!!! When entering the house through the front door, as most visitors do, you look down this hallway. Now – if you are a frequent visitor or happen to be coming over when the grill master is hard at work then you enter looking at a different wall…a wall that needed some help! Ahhhh haaaaaa – It started with 2 pictures. I was so happy to see my children smiling back at me every day when I came home…sometimes it even made me forget what rotten turds they can be…don’t worry it didn’t last long. Where to start? Frames Find some frames that you like and meet your style. I like gray, white-washed wood. I found these and these on Amazon. Pictures This project meant I got to go through hundreds of pictures of my kids and find my favorites….easy! I have always known what pictures are my favorites. It’s how I still see them (again minus the being turds thing). Where to print? Drug stores and local print shops are great options. Drug stores…..well, you can use them but I don’t recommend them for larger prints. They are one hour photo labs. A machine does everything for them. No human eye to catch imperfections. Local print shops are AMAZING! And I LOVE to shop small, local businesses when I can. But when their software constantly gives your computer trouble…you give up. Alas, you turn to Shutterfly. You can upload from your device using an app, pick your print, pay, and ship. Oh….and you get freebies. So using my phone app, I printed three 11×14 pictures and got two free 8×10!!! SCORE!! My list of pictures 3 – 11×14 individuals of the kids 1 – 10×20 (3 – 5×7) each kid’s school picture from last year 1 – 8×10 oldest kid wrestling 2 – 5×7 sets with at least 2 kids I laid all the pictures in their frames on the floor to decide which arrangement I liked best. Trying to keep it a little symmetrical, but also not too matchy-matchy with the individual pictures too close to one another. I left each arrangement on the floor for several days…looking at each arrangement in a different light, moving some pictures, switching sides, and finally, I decided on one I loved. Of course, I asked for some second opinions….and then I BEGGED hubby to hang them. Wanna see how it turned out? Without being completely symmetrical, I think this ended up looking great! I used different frames for each size and kept to the same gray wood theme; I think that worked out well. What do you think? Happy Decorating,
