INSIDE: FIND SOME PRACTICAL TIPS FOR STRESS-FREE BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING WITH MIDDLE SCHOOLERS IN TOW. Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday we were getting the smallest Kuball child ready for Kindergarten…and NOW – she is going to middle school??? Obviously, we will need a LOT of good vibes sent our way – because now we have 2 GIRL middle schoolers…..do not weep for us, just check in now and then and make sure they haven’t overthrown the parents!!! Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. Getting middle schoolers ready for school seems like life or death. If they don’t have the right clothes, backpack, and shoes; they will DIE! Supplies The easiest, smartest way to shop for school supplies – Target’s School List Assist. This revolutionary way of shopping for school supplies has saved me hundreds of dollars over the years! Two things my kids will not pick using this method – backpack and pencil pouch. WHY you ask? I don’t know. I don’t ask too many questions – I tend to get this “boom-bastic side eye.” Thanks TikTok! Pencil pouches are WAY cooler on Amazon. Back packs Y’all I give up. I think every year, if I spend a little bit more on these things, they will keep them longer. FALSE! That is soooo NOT true and couldn’t be further from the truth……UNTIL – they found the BEST backpacks EVER! Meet Vera Bradley XL Campus bag – AND guess what – 50% off right now!!!! Then there’s the fjallraven kanken backpack – this one has a laptop compartment. The last one of note – Herschel’s Classic Backpack – inexpensive, holds plenty internally and even has 2 water bottle holders. ***UPDATE: Our school district decide to go with clear backpacks this year….never mind the “forever” backpacks I bought last year…..gotta start over. Thankfully, there are more options today than 14 years ago when Liam had to have one in Kindergarten. Check out these options for clear backpacks – Under Armour to the rescue – solidly built, different colors, and has a laptop sleeve. Click here to order. Of course, Vera Bradley and lululemon have clear options of their well known backpacks. But lululemon is TOO expensive for my blood – and the clear packs aren’t always available. You can tell by my above comments that I LOVE Vera Bradley bags. My kids beat their bags – and these ones have been the only ones to hold up – so click here to order the clear version. Highly rated on Amazon? Yes, sometimes that is all you need. Click here to order. Clothing Clothes just get more expensive as they get older. I’ve preached this for years – do not spend all of your money on Fall clothing! There are 4 seasons and the children will need shorts and pants with long sleeve shirts and jackets. Younger kids are ok with Target $5 pants etc…..middle schoolers not so much. The bonus is they don’t grow quite as fast so clothes last a LITTLE longer. Enter – SHEIN, Stitch Fix, Amazon, and Hollister. Shoes I don’t suppose it comes as a surprise but I like one stop shopping. Hence, shoe shopping at Rack Room is what I do! Buy one, get one 50% off allows for sneakers and dress shoes, if that’s their thing. The other bonus to Rack Room is Free coupons after purchases. SO – you could buy one pair now and use the coupon in the future to get even further savings. Hope this helps you has it has helped us….stay sort of sane during back to school shopping with our middle schoolers. Happy Shopping,

INSIDE: HOW TO KEEP YOUR HOUSE ORGANIZED BECAUSE IT IS A JOURNEY I figured something out yesterday, my organizational journey needs careful follow up. WHAT? It doesn’t just STAY this way? I can’t just organize and hope that everyone follows every rule every day? NOPE. You have to maintain the organization. You have to put forth the effort, a little each day. Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Click here for the full disclosure. Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! When I started in January, I took one room and cleared the clutter. Over time, this room became lived in again. Now that it was clean, people wanted to spend time in there. Well, people leave things behind. Coffee cups, toys, clothing….NOW I have to take the time to maintain this room. I also don’t want to spend every weekend cleaning my house. It would take up my whole Saturday. So….I enlisted help. I have someone come to my house every other week to clean. She cleans the bathrooms, kitchen, runs the vacuum, dusts, and makes the beds. Every other week, she cleans the blinds, windows, and fans. Occasionally, she cleans the refrigerator and will even sweep the front and back porch. I have noticed several things since hiring my house cleaner – she doesn’t do as good a job as me, but it saves me so much time that I don’t mind going behind her sometimes. The other thing is I have so much more time to do the things I WANT to do. Sacrifice is well worth the reward! The thing she doesn’t – and CAN’T do – is keep up with my organization. She puts everything in her way into a giant pile. BUT….what if I kept up the organization so she didn’t have anything to put into a pile? That would lessen my eye rolling when I see the pile…. Let’s refocus today…. 1 – List of rooms that need attention every day These are the rooms that are lived in every day and need to have the clutter cleared daily or it can get out of control. Make a list of your own rooms. 2 – List of rooms that need attention once per week Not so lived in, but still gather “things” that don’t belong. 3 – Today, start by picking your first room I will start in my dining room today. Not so lived in, but it gathers a TON of things….that DO NOT belong! Current situation: 4 – Organize your plan of attack Do a quick scan…what does not belong? Where should it be? Start there! Ok – roughly 10 minutes…only because I stopped to pet a pup….would have been 5. 4 – Keep going!!!! Move from one room to the next. It took me 20 minutes to do 6 rooms. Quick, nothing major, and BOOM! I feel like I have accomplished so much! I know….the kids are going to DESTROY it when they get home but….that’s ok, we are making memories! Remember, sometimes it is just about starting somewhere! I will remind myself of this as I move my way to the bedrooms. I can tell you that making the kids help me clean up has improved and I get much less of a fight these days. Happy tidying,

INSIDE : ALMOST DONE WITH OUR RESET YOUR LIFE CHALLENGE, GO OUT STRONG AND SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS! Another successful week in the bag…..🥳 My husband is going out of town this week, this might be the real test for all of us in this house. What are your challenges? Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. Today is Sunday and we all need to set ourselves up for success. Food planning, laundry, and an agenda for the week. Meal planning Nothing fancy. Just write it down and stick to it. I took chicken out yesterday but the girls ended up with last minute sleepover play dates….which meant….DATE NIGHT! We are old though. So a few beers and some sushi at the local craft restaurant was the plan. We went to Home Depot to check out closet organizers (yup, now that it’s all neat and orderly, we are gonna spruce it up in there!). Then we got a phone call saying ‘come pick me up now I can’t sleep here!’ Off to rescue the middle child, and date night was over….oh wait……back to the chicken. So I need to make it since it’s defrosted. Groceries Set pick up time to coordinate with pick up time for child that actually spent the night at her friends house. Laundry I really dislike this chore. I need some hacks to make this faster. Maybe if I redo my laundry room, I’ll want to be in there? Nah!!!! But I’ll redo it anyway. Soon…….. Keep going Organize the kids for the week using my weekly fridge chart. ✅ Almost done – Set up my agenda for my projects. ✅ I have my own homework to do 👎🏻. Happy planning,
