INSIDE: CHECK OUT THESE 3 OUT OF THIS WORLD GRAY AND YELLOW WALL ART PROJECTS PERFECT FOR A MASTER RETREAT!
During my master bedroom makeover, I decided that I need more wall art then just the stuff I could find at home decor stores. Don’t get me wrong, I found plenty of good stuff. But it was lacking punches of color that I wanted.

So I made my own perfect gray and yellow wall art!!!
Check out these 3 out of this world wall art projects to decorate your master retreat or anywhere else for that matter.
1 – Handmade swirls
I found this cool picture on Pinterest and thought I could replicate it without spending the hundreds people wanted for it on Etsy.
Check out how I did it –
DIY canvas swirls
Materials
- Acrylic paint in your preferred colors (I used yellow, black, gray and white)
- 16x20 Canvas
- Foam brushes
- Paper plate
Instructions
- Place your colors on the paper plate
- Dip the foam brushes into the paint
- Swirl them in a circle, leaving chunks of paint behind
- Use more paint on some swirls so if gives the painting dimensions
- Let each layer dry before starting the next layer and use different size brushes
2 – Handmade letters
Picked up these white letters at the craft store a long, long time ago. But I found these on Amazon that are the same price.
Easy and wait till you see how I used them.
Yellow and Gray letters
Materials
- Acrylic paint (you choose your colors but I went with yellow and gray)
- Painters tape
- Letters....and the "&" symbol
- Paper plate
- Paint brushes
Instructions
- Put the paint on the paper plate
- Tape off the sections of the letters you want to paint your FIRST color
- Paint one section at a time
- Once dry, remove the painters tape
- You can either hand paint the rest or re-tape it, I have a pretty steady hand so I free painted with the next color
- When I was finished, I decided that it might be a little to perfect...so I distressed it with a little leftover chalk paint
3 – Collage Canvas
This might be one of my favorite projects of all time!
DIY Collage Canvas
Materials
- Canvas (I used 16x20)
- Silver acrylic paint
- Mod Podge - Matte formula
- Pictures of the people you like (I printed mine for FREE from Shutterfly, I only paid for shipping)
- Foam Brush
Instructions
- Order your prints from Shutterfly and gather your supplies
- Lay out the pictures, you may have to cut the pictures to your preference - take a picture so you remember how you wanted it
- Paint the border of your canvas with your acrylic paint
- Spread the Mod Podge on the canvas
- Place the pictures as you had before - see that's why you need to take that picture
- Once the pictures are in place, spread Mod Podge over the top of the pictures
- Once the top layer is dry, spread another layer on
- After that dries, you can hang your collage
I think the combo of pre-made wall art and DIY wall art made this project turn out timeless. Can’t wait to show you the room when it’s finished.
