So Project Backyard was put on hold….. Fast forward to today – we have restarted that project and made some headway. Hence my lack of writing….I have been distracted. Not to mention all the craziness going on in the world….I was wearing so many other hats. • Project backyard…yard fixin’s

The backyard is coming along nicely. I am in LOVE with our new space and I am LOVING that kids don’t spend hours inside! On weekends, they are up and begging to swim by 8:30am! It is NO where NEAR done but what a difference in our family life! We have a lot of work to do but we are doing it at our pace. It’s not a snail’s pace, but until I’m done with school…we don’t have an endless supply of money to go on these shopping sprees. We have some major things that need work – and really – we can’t have any type of party until we…

  • Project Backyard…part 2

The construction work is done!!!!!!!!!!! Now we have to add water. We started filling Saturday morning but only one hose at a low level. Of course, we promised the kids they could swim once it was half way filled. That did NOT happen on Saturday. By Sunday, the kids were itching….the anticipation was too much!!!!! By then, we were given the green light to turn on 2 hoses and crank them up full blast! This helped….a LOT! While middle child was waiting, she decided to learn how to care for the pool and told us SHE would be our ‘pool boy!’ 🤷🏻‍♀️ Since the water level was rising, we decided…

  • Project backyard….part 1

We have a porch and a very boring backyard. ☹️ Our neighborhood doesn’t have a community pool 😦 Slip and slides get boring. You can only ask friends to go swimming so many times a summer before they feel like you are using them….so what should we do? Save!!! For years!!!! Finally, we decided we had enough for the pool we wanted. All 5 of us got a blank paper and drew our perfect pool. It was amazing…we all drew the same kind of pool. Kidney shaped with a step in. Now some of us had different sizes and accessories but overall we were all in agreement. Now, the work…

It’s a hard wood therefore makes sturdy furniture.…

  • How to Build the Perfect Fairy Garden

HOW TO BUILD THE PERFECT FAIRY GARDEN – WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW HOW AND DON’T WANT TO SPEND A FORTUNE. I didn’t know this was a thing until I was at work and the girl I was training showed me her MANY fairy gardens. She was talking about making one for her desk…ok lady! Whatever floats your boat! But then I saw the pictures and I thought…I know where one of those would look amazing. And what a great craft for me and the kids to do!!! There are plenty of big box craft stores that have fairy garden accessories but I didn’t want to spend $12 for a deer…🤷🏻‍♀️…
