4 DIY Gifts That Don’t Suck (to get or make)

Every year I go through the same panic – what am I going to buy my co-workers, neighbors, friends, and family members?

This year, I’m not gonna do it….I’m not going panic. I’m not going stress out about what to get people who already have everything they need or want. Clearly, people have become accustomed to saying “I don’t want anything, please save your money” while secretly they are hoping you buy them a Dyson Hair Dryer…..

Well, I am not Bill Gates so…..that is NOT going to happen.

BUT – I can still give some gifts to the people I care about….without breaking the bank and having it come from my heart.

Here is a list of 4 DIY Gifts that don’t suck to get or make!

1 – Candy Cane Foot Scrub

What you need:

• Epsom Salt
• Coconut Oil
• Castile Soap
• Baking Soda
• Glass Jars
• Essential Oils
• Skin Safe Food Dye

Directions:

1. Mix 1/2 cup Epsom Salt, 1/4 cup baking soda, 2 tablespoons Castile soap, and 1 tablespoon coconut oil until well mixed
2. Add 8-10 drops of Peppermint essential oil (depends on your preference of strength of smell)
3. Divide the mixture into 3 separate bowls
4. Add skin safe food dye as follows: one bowl of green, one bowl of red, and one remains white
5. Layer the scrub into the jar, alternating colors for a candy cane effect

2 – PooP Spray

What you need:

• Witch Hazel
• Essential Oils
• Spray bottles
• Castile Soap

Directions:

1. Start with 2 oz Witch Hazel and 2 tablespoons Castile soap
2. Add 20 drops of your favorite essential oil combo
3. Fill the rest of the bottle with water (distilled is best)
4. Shake and spray directly into the toilet bowl before you go #2

3 – Photo Tiles

What you need:

• Tiles
• Photos
• Mod Podge
• Clear Sealant
• Felt
• Hot Glue

Directions:

1. Find your favorite pictures – Click here to get your discount on Shutterfly
2. Round the corners of your pictures, if you want that look
3. Apply Mod Podge to the tile, place your picture in the spot you like it
4. Use one coats of Mod Podge, making sure to go in vertical or horizontal direction
5. Allow that to dry, the apply ONE MORE coat of Mod Podge, go in the opposite direction than step 4
6. Spray the clear sealant spray to the top of the tile
7. Next, cut your felt to fit your tile or cut 4 small squares to fit on the corners
8. Use the hot glue gun to affix the felt to the bottom of the tile

4 – Cocktails in a Cup

What you need:

• Mason Jar Cup
• Mini bottle (of liquor)
• Mixer – like Coca-Cola, RedBull, Starbucks

Directions:

1. Place the mixer in the mason jar
2. Tie the mini bottle to the rim of the mason jar
3. Add a sweet note
