INSIDE : Tired of the same boring decorations? Come check out these marvelous Easter decorations you can make at home without breaking the bank. Festive Decorating is my jam, so I am always looking forward to the next holiday. Now that St. Patty’s Day is gone, we get to decorate for spring and Easter! Last year, I made this cool pot to put on my entryway console table. This year, I went a few steps further using plastic eggs, fairy lights, and a lantern to decorate the entrance to our home. And of course, I had to hook the mantle up to impress. While getting my gear ready for the big day, I realized that I had to throw away one of my Spring wreaths due to poor storage (oops). So I took the idea from my St. Patrick’s Day wreath and make it more Easter friendly. Check out how I made that here – with the Easter one I used yellow yarn and a package of carrots from The Dollar Tree. I found a silly little rabbit at TJ Maxx and scooped it up. This is my mantle all ready for Easter – Next stop – console table!!! This is at the front door of our home. We don’t use that door all the time, but when we do, it looks GOOOOOD! (Say it in your best Jim Carrey voice) For this area I decided I wanted to do something a little more fun. So me and the smallest pipsqueak made a lantern of plastic eggs. Here is what we did – We literally went row by row stuffing eggs and twisting the lights around them. Turned out pretty excellent, if you ask me. We also threw the rest of the eggs in our apothecary jars and called ourselves festive. I can’t wait to see the lantern at night, all lit up! What do you do for Easter? Happy Decorating,

Come learn how to not suck at Decorating for St. Patrick’s Day. Using these quick and easy crafts, make your house a St. Patrick’s Day haven. Don’t get bogged down by keeping up with the Pinterest mom….try these easy and cheap decorations. I have told you how to decorate for seasonal holidays before…but some of you are still confused about how to do it without making yourselves crazy. Follow along and learn how cheap and easy still gets the job done. Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. First – where are you going to put your decorations for St. Patrick’s Day? Mantle Console table Dining table Kitchen counter Entertainment center Once you pick your place you will have a better idea of how much you need to make decorating not suck and look amazing. Second – how much DIY are you willing to do? Personally, I didn’t have too much time for DIY’ing this holiday. So I went with one DIY project and the rest were pre-made. Before we go on, you should check us out on the socials: Facebook, Insta, Pinterest Onward! Location This year, I used my last year’s decorations found here but made it new by changing some locations. Sometimes it is JUST THAT easy. Do you have a table at your front door? I call it a console table, I’m not sure if that’s technically what it is but….who cares, it’s at my front door. This is what I did this year. The apothecary jars are filled with fake gold coins. Door – hello don’t forget this – remember it might keep the mean neighbors from yelling at you about your barking dogs….they see you as festive and then they forget they are mad. Pre-made ideas Some of my favorite places to get pre-made seasonal decorations come from this little place called Hobby Lobby! If you go just before the holiday (in this case, March 1-16) you will find a TON of things on clearance. Michael’s and Kirkland’s are great ideas too! These are a few of my finds this year The one DIY project from this year – DIY Wreath Finally – the whole thing together – Hope you got some ideas for your own decorating! Let us know how your decorations turned out.

I added these fillers – similar found here. Such a great addition, simple and fun. Before we go on, you should check us out on the socials: Facebook, Insta, Pinterest 2 – Felt Heart Tree I don’t have hardwood trees near my house, but if you do, I recommend sending your little ones on a scavenger hunt. Different shapes, thicknesses, lengths etc. However, if you are like me…..you can buy them here. Once the branches are cleaned and bug free, then add them to a tall vase. This is where the different sizes come into play. Arrange them to your liking, and get out the felt heart stickers found here. Place the stickers on branches until you are satisfied. And that is it. Easy peazy! I added these conversation hearts to the bottom to help balance the colors. 3 – Heart Wreath A quick trip to The Dollar Tree yielded us with a lot of cheap and brilliantly easy projects to make Valentine’s Day decorations, including this heart wreath. Supplies There a bunch of paint samples in my garage from various different things and I either never used them, or I didn’t use all of them. I am amazed at all the colors I found. I let my youngest kiddo pick the color to use on this project. She didn’t even hesitate….PINK! The pot was sitting in the garage BUT……if you need one, find one like this – Check out how you can order online and pick up in store…… Directions I have vision of putting a stuffed bunny upside down in this pot, but I don’t have a way to keep him from falling in right now. I will think of something. For now it will hang out on the console table at the front door. Happy Crafting,

Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. INSIDE: TAKE A WALK INTO OUR HOME’S NEWEST EASTER DECORATION. CHEERY, BRIGHT COLORS TO MAKE EVERYONE FEEL BETTER ABOUT BEING AT HOME MORE THAN USUAL! It’s time to take down the St. Patty’s decorations….while I don’t think a single person celebrated St. Patrick’s special day…..let’s get ready for Easter. Warmer weather is on the way and hopefully good news on the horizon. I’m thinking that these bright colors will lift everyone’s spirits! Last year, we used the console table and the kitchen table to make the most of our decorating pleasures. Here is last year’s decor – This year, I have gathered all of my brightest flowers, table toppers, and candles and decided that I am going to try to decorate for Easter a little different. Let’s start with what I have on hand. Because there will be no traveling to our favorite craft store, dollar store, or even shopping online…… Current supplies Spring flowers (fake ones) Vases Table runners x2 Easter Egg trees But I need new decor…..I have paint, terracotta pots, and a Cricut….hmmmmm. I’m getting an idea….we will get to that in a minute. Once I had my decorations out, I realized that I had a few things that I didn’t use last year and some things that I can move around. Since the console table just got a makeover, I was excited to use it for some more decoration. First, I put my Easter/Spring table runner there and started to put together the decorations. The tulips stayed in the vase from last year and added the kid’s craft from last year. I didn’t display it last year, so this was a great way to get that cutie thing out there! I added a terracotta pot that we painted. Want to see how I did that? I’ll show you here. I love my Dr. Seuss like Easter Egg sprays.….. And of course, no Easter/Spring decorating adventure is complete without a GIANT flower arrangement! Flowers are like paint – they can make a huge difference with little effort. Our mantle also gets a pretty makeover during most holidays. This year, I kept the Easter decor simple here. The last thing I did was add the last table runner to the kitchen table. I wish I could snag a picture but there are busy children doing e-Learning there right now. And we cannot disrupt that process…. So even though I couldn’t go get the millions of things I wanted at the store…I made the most of my time. The bright colors cheered everyone up….OH I almost forgot, I put an Easter wreath on the door so my neighbors could feel festive too. What is your favorite time of year to decorate? Do you go overboard for any of them? Happy Decorating,

Last year when decorating for St. Patty’s Day I kept it simple and threw some flowers in a vase. This year…I’m doing something different. Welcome to the 2020 version of St. Patty’s Day decoration. Do you decorate for St. Patty’s Day? What do you do to spread the St. Patty’s love? With my console table now made over, I was able to take on some new decorating choices. Last year’s decor – To start with, I grabbed a new runner. I honestly have no idea where I found mine, but this one is similar. Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. Next, I took a trip to The Dollar Tree. Here is what I found: What did I do with all these goodies? I wrapped the garland around the candles. Easy….. I cut the garland into the pieces I needed. The ends were wires so I was able to twist the ends to keep them in place. I found a candy jar I used in my old office and put some gold coins in it. Then I used my vase with clovers from last year. And of course, my trusty front door sign. I used the same sign as last year. Now, I can drink my green beer and celebrate the Irish holiday! See how easy it is to decorate for each holiday? And it makes my kiddos excited for the next one…..I’m still trying to figure out how I can make Elf on the Shelf last all year long…..I will come up with something. Happy Decorating,

INSIDE: CHECK OUT THESE 7 GENIUS WAYS TO ORGANIZE ALL YOUR SEASONAL DECOR Why is it important to make sense of your holiday decorations? Because it will save you time when you need to pull them out next year!!!! If you have more than one box of holiday decorations, check out these 7 decoration storage ideas. Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Those funds help keep this site alive and kickin’ but it doesn’t cost YOU a thing! Click here for the full disclosure. 1 – Color Coordinate Pick up boxes that match the color of the holiday. Red and Green for Christmas, Purple for Halloween, Orange for fall, Pink for spring….you get the idea. 2 – Ornament Storage You gotta keep ’em separated…. I have this exact box but over the years we have accumulated more ornaments than this one box can hold. My solution was to just throw the rest of the ornaments in the bottom of another box…well this year that came back to bite me. I have ornaments in 4 boxes and it makes NO sense! So I need to purchase another one of these! 3 – Wreath Storage Wreaths are delicate little things. They need to be protected from the harsh throwing of the oldest child while he’s putting the Christmas decor away in the attic. At least that’s how it works in my house. 4 – Wrapping Paper I have wrapping paper all over the place. Some for birthdays, some for Christmas….I never know where it is or how much I have. SO here is my solution: Maybe I will get 2 – one for Christmas, one for Birthdays/all other holidays….I think we are on to something. Plus – there is room at the top of the organizer for tape and scissors. 5 – Bows, Ribbons, Tags, & Bags I am not big on the bows and ribbons. Honestly, I think I’m lazy, but it seems unnecessary. When I’m unwrapping gifts, I find the ribbons slow me down and I don’t have time for all that. HAHAHA. However, a LOT of people use these accessories so I found this awesome idea I wanted to share with you. The Polished Habitat has a great solution using clear organizers. 6 – Label where the pieces go Take the guess work out of where that garland goes next year by labeling the item this year. If there is more than one box….you can organize by room. You can make your own labels, use a label maker, or buy some fancy ones like this….but labeling which room they go in can help your helpers help you. 7 – Put your boxes away strategically Don’t put some in your garage, some in the attic, some at the bottom of your closet…but them all in ONE place if you can. That way, you know where to go for all decorations. This was a MAJOR fault of mine. I had some in a closet, some in the attic, some in the garage….I’ve lost many items because I thought they went in one place and everything else was actually in another. OOPS. Lesson learned. I would love to have this in the attic/crawl space we have. Wishfully thinking maybe?? Comment below with our ideas on decoration storage. Happy decorating,

INSIDE: LOOK NO FURTHER, 5 EASY DIY HALLOWEEN CRAFTS JUST FOR YOU Kids love crafts…apparently no matter the age. I think they love crafts because they love making messes. So as parents, we want to foster their creativity and yet…we hesitate because they are really good at making HUGE messes. I have found some easy AND not so messy DIY Halloween crafts for you and your kids. 1 – Pumpkin Stickers Where else do moms find the greatest things on the planet?!? Target!!! While prepping my Target run – drive up, pick up – I came across these stickers. I think they were made for craft pumpkins but I wanted to see how they did on real pumpkins. I could have added some craft pumpkins to my order but we were going to our local pumpkin patch anyway…so we grabbed these little guys and went to work. Let me be clear – I was so excited that my almost 18 year old participated. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of him. I did have to crop out an inappropriate hand gesture BUT look he’s smiling!!!!!! (And yes, I know he needs a haircut but he is almost an adult and I cannot make him get one!) We were so happy with the results we put them on display for all to see. 2 – Pipe Cleaner and Pony Bead Pumpkins A few years ago, I was trolling Pinterest for some fun, easy Halloween crafts for my pipsqueaks. They are a little older now and didn’t want to do this project this year. However, I still think it’s amazing!! Cutesy Crafts has a lot of super cute ideas for pony beads. 3 – Toilet Paper Ghost Eyes We did this one 2 years ago for our Halloween party at our house. We asked some friends to save as many toilet paper rolls as they could. Then we had what we lovingly referred to as ‘Craft Night.’ It involves the kids crafting and the moms drinking Twisted Teas. But we had fun doing this one. What you need – Toilet paper rolls Exacto knife Glow sticks Fishing line or some other clear string Black Tape – duct tape or electrical tape Directions Remove leftover toilet paper from the roll. I don’t know about you but my toilet paper was glued to the roll like it was protecting Fort Knox…. I actually had to roll my thumbs over the glued TP to get it off. PHEW!!! 2. Using your exacto knife (careful not to cut your fingers), cut the eyes out of the roll. 3. Break 3-4 glow sticks and place them in your roll. 4. Tape the ends closed with the black tape. 5. Tape your fishing line to the roll and hang them from tree branches or fan blades – depending on what you are using them for. I think the best part about this is you can do steps 1-3 before adding the glow sticks. Actually for our project we did steps 1-3, taped the end of the roll AND attached the string. So all we had left to do what break the glow sticks and close the other end of the roll just in time for Halloween. 4 – Mason Jar Pumpkins I found these plastic mason jars in Bullseye’s Playground for $3. And I bought 3 sets of them. I don’t know why. I ended up using them for this and put the rest away for another day. It was a good deal….I couldn’t pass it up. What you need – Mason jars Acrylic paint (orange, green and black) Paint brushes Painters tape (if you want perfect lines) Directions Make sure the mason jars are clean and dry. Paint the lower portion orange and top portion green. Depending on the look you want, you will need several coats. 2. Paint your eyes, mouth, nose and whatever other traits you want your pumpkin to have with the black paint. 3. Insert a NON flammable tealights in the mason jar. Glass gets HOT!!!!! You can pick up pumpkin lights just about anywhere for less than $1. Aren’t they cute??? 5 – Tissue Ghost Garland This might be the easiest thing I have ever done. And I had everything on hand!!! What you need – Cotton balls Tissues Dental floss Wrap 2 tissues around a cotton ball. 2. Tie the heads with dental floss and keep pulling. 3. Use a sharpie to draw little eyeballs on the ‘heads.’ I literally pushed the sharpie down and twisted a little bit. 4. Hang anywhere!!! Woohoooo!!!! Did you give these a try? Let’s see what you came up with!!!!! Happy Crafting,

HOWEVER, I was not sure I could get away with decorating for Halloween before October hit. Since we have crossed the threshold of October, come decorate for Halloween with us! First, let me explain something important – I have collected many of these things over the years. Some are new, some are old, some are made by me, some are made by others….BUT it takes time to collect these things. Several years ago, we had a Halloween party…on Halloween. It went so well, we did it again the next year. I would love to have another one, but I don’t have time this year. Let’s recap what I already have up: I have preserved my entryway table for some Halloween decorations, as I have done with Christmas, Valentines, St. Patty’s, and Easter. I have more room outside so I will utilize that area too! Here is an example of some old and some new. The lighted pumpkin was a gift from one of my favorite aunts several years ago. And my new candlesticks are from my in-laws. As you can see, I used my homemade popcorn tealight wax warmer, a cloth pumpkin, and a pumpkin candle to liven up the candlesticks for this holiday. The “flower arrangement” is filled with glitter witch’s brooms from The Dollar Tree. And a new fall table runner – similar to this one. I added a spider floral arrangement to the mantle using one spider and rose combo, a vase, and some crumpled up green tissue paper. Moving outside – I have no idea where I got this skeleton garland but it has been around for several years. The “trick or treat” sign on the door was a find AFTER Halloween last year. And no kid friendly home is complete without window clings. My lovely hanging witch, pumpkin, and ghost have seen better days, I keep fixing them….we’ll see if they make it through this year. I decided to add a few more things to the mantle. Using a cloth spider web and orange string lights, I made the mantle a little spooky, according to the girls. To add fuel to their fire, I tied up some spiders and a skeleton into the web. We had one more string of lights, so my little helper came up with a genius idea. She enlisted some helpers too. I found this super cute pumpkin at the local craft store. They had a taller one, but it didn’t have the same colors. This one fits the decor of my home already….seemed like a no brainer. And now, I am done. Pretty sure everyone in the house thinks I “over did it.” But I love it! Oh, and we still have our pumpkins to get….I’ll update you when we get those. Happy decorating,

INSIDE: LEARN HOW TO MAKE 5 DIY DECORATIONS FOR FALL WITHOUT BREAKING YOUR BUDGET I am so excited! Cause it’s FALL! AND I get to decorate for another ‘holiday.’ It feels like I haven’t been able to decorate in a LONG time. Probably because it has been awhile. I did hang a red, white, and blue star wreath on the door for the summer. That covered Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. But I’m tired of it! So today – we go crazy with the fall decor! Disclosure Statement: The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Click here for the full disclosure. My artsy-fartsy friend Kate made me a cute “all season” door hanger. She also made me a special one for the fall – good thing, cause I think I threw away the previous one away after last fall. In this post, I talked about my formal living room and how I use it for decorating. The mantle and chimney stack are center pieces, so much so that I put a hook to hang wreaths for most of the year. I decided I was going to take on a few crafts to help make the house festive. First, I made a trip to the craft store. This is a DANGEROUS place! But I found some good things AND decided that I need to go back AFTER Halloween and Fall – SALES!!!! I grabbed some fall flowers, pumpkins, and a table runner. I couldn’t spend $8/piece on placemats so….I’ll have to look elsewhere for those. Second, DOLLAR TREE I mean, it’s like a magic place that gets EVERYONE’S creative juices flowing! I grabbed some craft pumpkins, stencils, leaf votive holder, fall leaves, un-popped popcorn and glass vases. Third, spread it all out to see what I’m working with! Here’s what I came up with – Popcorn candle holder Remove the stickers at the bottom of the the glass vases and votive holders. TIP: soak it in a sink full of soapy water for 5 minutes and the sticker will just slide off. Let them dry. Then add enough popcorn to fill the vase about half way. TIP: I used 2 bags for all 3 vases. Place tealight in the center. TIP: I tried lighting the tealight first then placing it in the popcorn. It was hard to push it into the popcorn. I also tried pushing it in first THEN lighting it. It was HOT! So…..my recommendation would be to put the tealight in the popcorn first and get a long lighter. Place the leaf votive on the top. AND finally, add your favorite candle wax (Scentsy or otherwise) in the votive. Craft pumpkin sign Remove the green tops or stems from the craft pumpkins. Using white acrylic paint I had on hand, I painted 4 craft pumpkins (but you can buy some here). It took 2 coats, but I didn’t focus on the tops or bottoms (cause you aren’t going to see that part, except the top one). Apply the stencils to the front of the pumpkins. You can use a piece of tape to keep the stencil in place. Choose whatever color you want for the letters. I picked gray, seems to go well with most of my home’s decor. Of course, you can write whatever you want on the pumpkins. My example says “FALL” but I thought about doing “THANKS,” I have too many ideas!!! I stacked mine on top of one another using toothpicks. It works well, until you try to move them. So my recommendation is don’t put them together until you’ve reached their final destination. I made one other thing with the craft pumpkins, but I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. So…..maybe I’ll tell you about it if it grows on me. Fall floral arrangements Using vases I already had, and some flowers I already had (plus some new ones), I created some fall flower arrangements. Keeping with the idea that fall is for orange, red, and yellows – adding in some texture with pussy-willows and wheat stacks – I came up with these. Porch display We found this plant stand years ago and use it at our front door. Most of the time it holds in season flowers; sometimes it holds nothing. Today, it holds a basket full of hay and pumpkins, a gourd, and some mums. Basket – Starting with an apple basket, I threw in a bale of hay (and made a giant mess in the driveway). I put the tree bark pumpkins on top and called it a craft! Mums – I took a little munchkin to Home Depot and we picked out all the pretty colored mums (and a strange looking white pumpkin/gourd.) We decided that it was boring to have them all by themselves at the door, so we decided on small plants and a large planter. (I am, personally, so excited to see what this looks like when it blooms.) We put some mums next to the pool and firepit!! I love these pretty flowers!!! Pallet pumpkins I have this very special guy, we like to call him Gru, and he likes to build things. Especially things with pallets. Last year, he made me these, I don’t think I’m going to paint them….but I guess I should seal them somehow….maybe I’ll figure that out this year. Stay tuned for my Halloween additions! Happy Decorating,
