First – where are you going to put your decorations for St. Patrick’s Day?

  • Mantle
  • Console table
  • Dining table
  • Kitchen counter
  • Entertainment center

Once you pick your place you will have a better idea of how much you need to make decorating not suck and look amazing.

Second – how much DIY are you willing to do?

Personally, I didn’t have too much time for DIY’ing this holiday. So I went with one DIY project and the rest were pre-made.

Location

This year, I used my last year’s decorations found here but made it new by changing some locations.

Sometimes it is JUST THAT easy.

Do you have a table at your front door? I call it a console table, I’m not sure if that’s technically what it is but….who cares, it’s at my front door.

This is what I did this year.

The apothecary jars are filled with fake gold coins.

Door – hello don’t forget this – remember it might keep the mean neighbors from yelling at you about your barking dogs….they see you as festive and then they forget they are mad.

Pre-made ideas

Some of my favorite places to get pre-made seasonal decorations come from this little place called Hobby Lobby! If you go just before the holiday (in this case, March 1-16) you will find a TON of things on clearance.

Michael’s and Kirkland’s are great ideas too!

These are a few of my finds this year

The one DIY project from this year –

DIY Wreath

St. Patrick's Day Wreath

St. Patrick's Day Wreath

Prep Time: 3 minutes
Active Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 33 minutes

Materials

  • Circle Foam Wreath
  • Green Yarn
  • Gold Ribbon
  • Dollar Tree Foam Shamrocks

Tools

  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun

Instructions

  1. Start by finding the end of your green yarn. Hot glue this to the foam wreath.
  2. Wrap the yarn around the wreath until it is covered.
  3. Make a bow with your gold ribbon (now I'm no expert on bow making - so whatever makes you happy here)
  4. Using the hot glue gun, apply the shamrocks to make it slightly symmetrical
  5. Take another piece of the gold ribbon, loop it around the wreath on the opposite side of the bow, and hot glue it to close the loop.
  6. Hang wherever your heart desires!
