How to Throw an Awesome Jasmine Birthday Party
INSIDE : COME SEE HOW WE PLAN AND THROW AN AWESOME JASMINE BIRTHDAY PARTY, WITHOUT THE ACTUAL PRINCESS AVAILABLE.
As I have mentioned before, my kids have come up with some pretty difficult themes over the years. So when the middle child asked for a Jasmine Birthday Party, I couldn’t turn down the challenge.
Keep in mind, this was years BEFORE the live action Aladdin came out. Thus we were going to have to be creative with all the decor.

Theme
My middle child is probably the biggest culprit of the difficult theme. She decided on Princess Jasmine from Aladdin for her 6th birthday. (This was before Aladdin was re-released or made into a live action movie).
Using my tried and true party planning guide found here, we found items to use without the availability of characters.
Location
This child likes to keep me on my party planning toes. Never easy, never clear cut. So she decided she wanted a pool party. That is wonderful except it’s November.
We used our local connections and rented a party room off the indoor pool at a local hotel. It was PERFECT! All the kids were eager to swim during the winter!!!
***I brought extra lifeguards!!!!***
Date
The date for this child’s is a bit tricky. One of her very best friends has the SAME exact birthday as her. So her mom and I coordinate to make sure we don’t have interfering parties. And also keeping in mind, Thanksgiving is close….we manage though.
Invitations
As always, came from Etsy!
Decorations
Since Aladdin had not been re-released yet, we had ZERO chance of finding this beautiful princess on anything! SO we did what every sensible mother/daughter combo would do…..we went on Pinterest and found some cool ideas for decorations!
We decided to use the colors of the invitation along with GOLD! So where could we find such things? Target of course!!!!
We stacked the plates and napkins on top of each other for a fancy feeling.
Also, topping the plates with her favorite fruit, an orange (which she doesn’t like anymore), gave her a feeling of control over the decorations. Then, we alternated tables with turquoise and purple tablecloths and added gold confetti in between the plates.
Of course, we tied some balloons to the back of their chairs and the birthday girl got a special princess balloon (the only thing I found with Jasmine on it).
Food
We only did light snacks because once they eat……they can’t swim for 20-30 minutes…..or is that an old wives tail?
Menu
- Veggie tray
- Fruit tray
- Cheese and pepperoni tray
- Chips
- Pretzels with hummus
- Goldfish
For the dessert……well, its really for the rest of us because this kid claims she doesn’t like cupcakes or cake (WWWHHHHHUUUUTTTT???) We had to recruit a new cupcake maker because our normal family friend was ill during this time (super sad face)!
Games
Games?!?!?! Who needs games? No one, especially when there is a pool next to you! The kids spent the first 60 minutes in the pool. The birthday girl wanted to take a “small break,” so we did snacks and cupcakes then. We let them settle their stomachs for about 15 minutes and let them back in the pool.
Goody Bags
Goody bags were super cute but I forgot to snag pictures of them. Gold dotted bags with glow stick princess rings, plastic princess wands, bead necklaces and princess coloring books.
Over all, the Jasmine birthday party lasted longer than most…..but it was worth it.
Have you ever had a pool party for your kiddos? How did you do it?
